The 19th-ranked LSU Tigers picked up another non-conference win on Monday night, defeating the Kennesaw St. Owls, 91-69, in the opening game of the Legends Classic,  at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

LSU used a 9-0 run to break the game into double figures in the first half, 25-15, with 10:00 left in the first half, before Kennesaw St. scored a bucket to trim the lead to 8 points.

From there, it was all Tigers, as LSU went on a 15-0 run to make it 40-17 with under 3:00 to go in the half.

LSU went on to lead, 44-21, at the break, led by as many as 29 with 11:57 to go in the game, and went on to the 22-point victory.

LSU outshot Kennesaw St. from the field 51%/38%, while being outrebounded, 40-37.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Ben Simmons, who finished with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals.

Three other LSU players reached double-digit scoring, including Josh Gray (16), Antonio Blakeney (14), and Aaron Epps (10).

In a losing cause for Kennesaw St., Kendrick Ray scored a game-high 25 points, while Nigel Pruitt added 15 points and 12 rebounds.

With the victory, the Tigers improved to 2-0 on the young season, while the Owls dropped to 0-2.

LSU is back in action on Thursday night, when they host the South Alabama Jaguars in he local round of the Legends Classic, with tipoff time slated for 8 pm.
