The LSU Tiger men's basketball team won their final non-conference game of the year on Saturday, defeating the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, 79-63, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge.

LSU led at the half, 38-30, and then outscored Bethune-Cookman, 41-33, in the second half, en route to the 16-point victory.

The Tigers out-shot the Wildcats from the field, 53%-37%, and also finished with a 35-32 rebound advantage.

Charles Carmouche led LSU in scoring, with 17 points, while Adrien Coleman paced Bethune-Cookman in a losing cause, with a game-high 24 points.

With the win, the Tigers improved to 9-2 on the year, and stayed perfect at home, at 8-0, while the Wildcats fell to 5-10.

LSU opens SEC play on Wednesday, when they travel to face Auburn.
