LSU ended their 2015 football season on a high note, clobbering Texas Tech 56-27 in the Advocare V100 Texas Bowl as running back Leonard Fournette set several school records.

Whether it was outrunning or running over, Fournette did it all for the Tigers, scoring an LSU bowl game record 5 touchdowns, setting a new LSU school record of rushing touchdowns in a season at 22, finishing the game with 212 rushing yards for 4 rushing touchdowns, along with 1 receptions for 44 yards and 1 receiving touchdown.

His 5 touchdowns from scrimmage tied an NCAA bowl game record.

Fournette finishes 2015 with 1,953 rushing yards (a single season school record) in 11 games.

For his Texas sized performance, Fournette earned Texas Bowl MVP honors, capping off a monstrous 2015 season for the sophomore from New Orleans, who was already thinking about next season.

"(We wanted to) come in and get ready for the next season," said Fournette to ESPN when asked after the win about his mindset heading into the game. "We need the upper hand for next season. In the offseason, we have to get better."

The victory gives Les Miles a 9-3 record this season. It would undoubtedly have been another 10 win season for Miles had LSU not had to cancel its season opening game versus McNeese State due to weather.

Tigers quarterback Brandon Harris struggled with accuracy in the first half, as Texas Tech only trailed 21-13 at the midway point. However, he found his stroke in the second half, ending the contest with 254 passing yards and 1 touchdown on 13 of 22 passing and an interception. He added another touchdown with his feet, rushing for 41 yards on 3 carries.

Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes was able to make plays for the Red Raiders with his scrambling ability, finding open receivers when buying more time. He finished with 379 passing yards, 1 interception and 4 touchdowns.

However, Texas Tech's rushing attack was shut down by LSU's defense, as the Red Raiders finished with 29 yards rushing. Compare that to the Tigers 384 yards on the ground and it's no surprise LSU won by 29.

Overall, LSU outgained Texas Tech 638-399.

The offseason has officially begun for LSU, who will enter 2016 with plenty of expectations as Fournette returns for his junior year. A less predictable offense and quarterback play will be major story lines entering 2016, as will Les Miles.

For the time being, the Tigers will enjoy the Advocare V100 Texas Bowl championship. They earned it.
