LSU Bomb Threat Suspect Arrested

There is a report out of Baton Rouge today that an arrest has been made in this week's bomb threat case. WAFB-TV reports that police have made an arrest in the case that led to the whole campus having to be evacuated earlier this week.

WAFB's report cites an LSU Police Department spokesperson saying that the person arrested on the charged is 42-year-old William Bouvay.  The charges say that the man is facing arrest for "communicating false information of a planned bombing."

After the threat was called into the East Baton Rouge Parish 911 center at the beginning of this week, it was a mess as thousands of student, faculty and staff were all trying to leave the campus.

According to the police report from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Bouvay – who according to his Facebook page is from Plaquemine, LA and currently living in Baton Rouge, LA – told the 911 operator

Yes, I’ve planted three bombs at LSU’s school campus. My colleagues planted three bombs at LSU to go off in two hours if my (pause). This is not a joke.  I’m gonna go there and… (call disconnected).

Detectives tracked the cell phone call to Skysail Ave. in Baton Rouge, where they found Bouvay. Once questioned by detectives, Bouvay eventually confessed to making the call and told them where they could find the cell phone used to make the bomb threat.

WAFB reports, the suspect is not a student and is being held by authorities in the East Baton Rouge Parish jail.
