The fifth-ranked LSU Tigers captured an SEC road win on Friday evening, defeating the Texas A&M Aggies, 5-4, in ten innings, in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, league series in College Station, Texas.

The win was the third-straight for LSU, and their 15th in their last 18 outings.

LSU’s Andrew Stevenson doubled with one out in the top half of 10th inning, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and then scored on a fielders choice ground ball off the bat of Mark Laird to account for the game-winning run.

Joe Broussard (3-0) picked-up the win out of the bullpen for the Tigers, with Kurt McCune recording his fourth save, while Ty Scholttman (0-2) suffered the loss for the Aggies.

With the win, LSU improved to 35-11-1, overall, and 13-8-1 in the SEC, while Texas A&M fell to 28-19, overall, and 10-12 in league play.
