The fourth-ranked LSU Tigers are back in action on Friday night, when they travel to Gainesville, Florida, to take on the Florida Gators in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, SEC series.

The conference series will mark the third of the season for LSU.

The Tigers, who fell to Tulane, 3-2, in non-conference play on Tuesday night, will come in at 20-5-1, overall, and 3-2-1 in SEC play.

Florida, who defeated Florida St., 4-1, on Tuesday  night, is currently 16-9, overall, and 3-3 in league play.

LSU is currently hitting a .278 as a team, along with nine home runs, 143 runs batted in, and 21 stolen bases. The Tigers are led, offensively, by Kade Scivicque, who is hitting a .373, and Andrew Stevenson, who is hitting a .356.

Florida is currently hitting a .265 as a team, along with six home runs, 89 runs batted in, and 16 stolen bases. The Gators are paced by Taylor Gushue and Braden Mattson, who are hitting a .337 and a .333, respectively.

Pitching-wise, the Tigers bring in a 1.85 team earned run average into the series, with right-hander Aaron Nola, who will start on Friday night, leading the way, with a 5-0 record, and an ERA. of 0.22. Jared Poche (5-1, 1.91) is the likely starter on Saturday, with Sunday TBA.

The Gators, who currently have an overall 2.95., are paced by freshman right-hander Eric Shore, who is 1-1 with a 1.15 ERA. Shore will start on Saturday, with sophomore right-hander Eric Hanhold (3-2, 3.18) getting the start on Friday night, and TBA on Sunday

LSU ranks sixth in the SEC in hitting, and first in pitching, while Florida ranks 12th in both hitting and pitching.

Game times are 6:30 pm on Friday night, noon on Saturday afternoon, and noon on Sunday afternoon.
