The fourth-ranked LSU Tiger baseball team is on the road on Thursday night, when they travel to Columbia, South Carolina to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks, in the opening game of a three-game SEC series.

The series will represent the final three games of the regular season for both teams, with a shot at the regular season SEC title on the line.

The Tigers, who have already clinched at least a tie for the SEC Westeren Division tile, are one game behind Kentucky, and a half-game behind South Carolina in the overall league standings.

LSU is currently 40-13 overall, and 17-10 in SEC play, while the Gamecocks currently stand at 38-13 overall, and 17-9 in league play.

In the series opener, LSU is expected to pitch sophomore right-hander Kevin Gausman (8-1, 2.95 era.), while South Carolina is expected to counter with senior left-hander Michael Roth (5-0, 2.60 era.).

Game times are 6 o'clock on Thursday and Friday night, with a noon start time scheduled for the series finale on Saturday.
