The seventh-ranked LSU Tigers continue NCAA Regional play on Saturday evening, when they take on the Houston Cougars in the second day of play in the Baton Rouge, La. Regional at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.

LSU, the top-seed in the regional, will head into the match-up at 45-14-1 on the season.

The Tigers, the #6-overall national seed, will bring a nine-game win streak into the game, after capturing an 8-4 win over the Southeastern Louisiana Lions in the opening day of regional action on Friday.

Houston, the #2-seed in the regional, defeated the Bryant Bulldogs, 3-2, in ten innings on Friday night, and will enter the contest will an overall record of 45-15.

LSU is currently hitting a .287 as a team, along with 39 home runs, 350 runs batted in, and 46 stolen bases.

The Tigers are led, offensively, by Andrew Stevenson, who is hitting a .326, and Tyler Moore, who is hitting a .319.

Houston is currently hitting a .279 as a team, along with 17 home runs, 272 runs batted in, and 81 stolen bases.

The Cougars are paced by senior first baseman Casey Grayson and sophomore outfielder Kyle Survance, who are hitting a .330 and a .314, respectively.

Pitching-wise, LSU brings brings in a 2.45 team earned run average into the game, while Houston is at a 2.19.

The ace for the Tigers is junior right-hander Aaron Nola, who is expected to get the start on Saturday. Nola, a first-team All-American, is 10-1 on the season, with a 1.49 earned run average.

The Cougars, who feature one of the top bullpens in the country, may go with either sophomore right-hander Jake Lemoine, who is 6-6 on the year, along with a 2.35 ERA., or with sophomore left-hander Jared West, who is 2-2 with a 2.64 ERA.

First-pitch is scheduled for 7 o’clock.
