The 9th-ranked LSU Tigers captured another SEC win on Saturday night, defeating the 10th-ranked Mississippi St. Bulldogs, 2-1, at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.

LSU scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to catapult them to the one-run victory, their second win over Mississippi St. in as many days, to secure the series win, with one game remaining.

Kade Scivicque led the way for the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run batted in, as LSU out-hit the Bulldogs, 5-4.

Jared Poche' (6-2) recorded the win for LSU, pitching the first six innings, allowing only one unearned run, before Joe Broussard recorded his seventh save of the season, tossing the ninth inning.

Ross Mitchell (5-2) suffered the loss for Mississippi St.

With the win, the Tigers improved to 23-8-1, overall, and 5-5-1 in SEC play, while the Bulldogs fell to 20-12, overall, and 6-5 in league play.

The teams will meet in the final game of their three-game, weekend, SEC series on Sunday at 1 o'clock.
