The second-ranked LSU Tigers open their 2015 regular season schedule on Friday night, playing host to the Kansas Jayhawks in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, non-conference series at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field in Baton Rouge.

First-pitch is scheduled for 7 o'clock, with the middle game on Saturday slated for 2 pm, and the final game of the series scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock.

LSU, which leads the nation with 150 wins over the past three seasons, finished with an overall record of 46-16-1 in 2014, including a trip to the NCAA Regionals as the number eight National Seed.

Kansas, members of the Big XII, posted a 35-26 record last season and advanced to the NCAA Louisville Regional.

Sophomore left-hander Jared Poche’ (9-3, 2.45 ERA. in 2014), a Freshman All-American last season, will start for LSU on Friday night, with freshmen right-handers Alex Lange and Jake Godfrey getting the starts on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Senior right-hander Drew Morovick (10-4, 5.00 ERA. in 2014) gets the opening game start for Kansas, with junior left-hander Ben Krauth getting the call on Saturday, and sophomore right-hander Sean Rackoski heading to the bump on Sunday.

The game marks the opening game of a season-opening 13-game home stand for the Tigers.
