The top-ranked LSU Tigers are back in action on Friday evening, when they play host to the Missouri Tigers in the opening game of a three-game SEC series at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.

The series, which will wrap-up LSU's 2015 home schedule, marks the ninth conference series of the year for both squads.

Winners of 17 of their last 21 games, LSU is currently 40-8, overall, and 16-7 in SEC play, good enough for a first-place tie in the SEC West with Texas A&M, who the Tigers won 2-of-3 games from earlier this year.

Missouri, who has lost 9 of their last 13 contests, will enter the series at 28-21, overall, and 14-10 in league play.

Offensively, the Tigers (LSU) are hitting a .319, along with 39 home runs, 311 runs batted in, and 86 stolen bases in 109 attempts, while out-scoring the opposition, 340-173.

Pitching-wise, LSU sports an overall, combined, team ERA. of 2.89, compared to a 5.95 for the opposition, while holding foes to a .233 batting average against.

The Tigers (Missouri) are hitting a .262 as a team, to go along with 36 homers, 217 RBI’s, and 61 stolen bases in 66 attempts.

On the hill, Missouri sports a team ERA. of a 3.43, holding opponents to a .243 batting average against.

LSU leads the all-time series, 5-0.
