The third-ranked LSU Tiger baseball team returns to SEC action on Friday night, when they play host to the Georgia Bulldogs, in the opening game of a three-game, weekend series, at Alex Box Stadium.

The Tigers are 33-9 overall this year, and 12-6 in SEC play, while the Bulldogs will come in with an overall record of 24-18, and a league mark of 8-10.

LSU leads the all-time series between the two schools, 58-20, but Georgia did win two-of-three over the Tigers last year in Athens, Ga.

Sophomore left-hander Alex Wood (5-1, 2.57 era) is expected to get the start on the hill for Georgia in the series opener, while LSU is expected to counter with sophomore right-hander Kevin Gausman (7-1, 3.00 era)
