The top-ranked LSU Tigers are back in action on Friday night, weather permitting, when they play host to the Auburn Tigers in the opening game of a three-game SEC series at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.

The series marks the fifth conference series of the year for both squads.

Winners of six straight, and seven of their last eight, LSU is currently 29-5, overall, and 8-4 in SEC play.

Offensively, the Tigers are hitting a .326, along with 33 home runs, 236 runs batted in, and 58 stolen bases in 75 attempts, while out-scoring the opposition, 256-128.

Pitching-wise, LSU sports an overall, combined, team ERA. of 3.06, compared to a 6.30 for the opposition, while holding foes to a .236 batting average against.

Auburn heads into the series with a record of 20-13, overall, and 4-8 in SEC play.

The Tigers are hitting a .281 as a team as season ago, along with 12 homers, 151 RBI’s, and 23 steals in 43 attempts.

On the hill, Auburn sports a team ERA. of a 3.71, holding opponents to a .254 batting average against.

LSU leads the all-time series, 94-70, including wins in 16 of the last 22 meetings.

Game times for the series are 7 o’clock on Friday night, 6:30 pm on Saturday night, and 1 o’ clock on Sunday afternoon.
