The Vanderbilt Commodores defeated the third-ranked LSU Tiger baseball team, 6-3, on Saturday at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, in the middle game of a three-game, weekend, SEC series.

The Commodores scored six runs, on 12 hits, with no errors, while the Tigers were held to three runs, on ten hits, with one error.

Sam Selman (8-3) collected the win for Vanderbilt, with Will Clinard recording his third save, while Aaron Nola (6-3) suffered the loss for LSU.

With the win, Vanderbilt improved to 25-25 overall, and 12-14 in SEC play, while LSU fell to 39-12 overall, and 17-9 in league play.

The series finale, and the rubber game of the three-game set,  is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
