The top-ranked LSU Tigers are back in action on Friday night, playing host to the Kentucky Wildcatss in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, SEC series at Alex Box Stadium/Skip Bertman Field in Baton Rouge, La.

The series marks the third conference series of the year for both squads.

Winners of five of their six games, LSU is currently 22-3, overall, and 4-2 in SEC play.

Offensively, the Tigers are hitting a .332, along with 20 home runs, 174 runs batted in, and 39 stolen bases in 53 attempts, while out-scoring the opposition, 187-83.

Pitching-wise, LSU sports an overall, combined, team ERA. of 2.66, compared to a 6.73 for the opposition, while holding foes to a .222 batting average against.

Kentucky heads into the series with a record of 16-9, overall, and 2-4 in SEC play.

The Wildcats are hitting a .299 as a team as season ago, along with 10 homers, 136 RBI’s, and 30 steals in 38 attempts.

On the hill, Kentucky sports a team ERA. of a 4.29, holding opponents to a .246 batting average against.

LSU leads the all-time series, 170-145.

Game times for the series are 7 o’clock on Friday night, 6:30 pm on Saturday night, and 11 am on Sunday morning.
