LSU Baseball Eliminated By Mississippi St., 4-3 – Recap
The top-seeded LSU Tiger baseball team was eliminated from the 2012 SEC Tournament on Friday afternoon, falling to the seventh-seeded Mississippi St. Bulldogs, 4-3, in ten innings, at Regions Park in Hoover, Alabama.
The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning, and another run in the second, to take a 3-0 lead. The game stayed that way until the eighth, when the Bulldogs scored a run, then tied it with two runs in the ninth, before scoring a single run in the extra frame to win it.
Shortstop Adam Frazier led Mississippi St. at the plate with three hits, while right-fielder Mason Katz and catcher Paul Snikeris each had two hits in a losing cause for LSU.
Jonathan Holder (2-0) picked-up the win for Mississippi St., while Nick Goody (1-2) suffered the loss for LSU.
With the in, Mississippi St. improves to 37-22 on the year, while LSU falls to 43-16.
Mississippi St. advances to play Kentucky on Saturday, while LSU is eliminated.
