Four teams from the Acadiana area remain alive, as the 2012 Louisiana High School Athletic Association football playoffs enter the quarterfinal round on Friday night.

The state title dreams of the Teurlings Catholic Rebels are still alive in class 4A, with the Notre Dame Pioneers still in contention in class 3A, along with  the Vermilion Catholic Screaming Eagles and the Westminster Crusaders in class 1A.

Two other schools with some local flavor, Jennings and Basile, are still going strong in the class 3A and class 1A brackets, respectively.

Top-seeded Archbishop Rummel highlights the class 5A schedule, as they travel to take on 9th-seeded Ouachita Parish.

In class 4A, 4th-seeded Teurlings is on the road to take on 21st-seeded McDonogh 35.

Moving to class 3A, second-seeded Notre Dame hosts 26th-seeded Iowa, while 13th-seeded Jennings will be at 5th-seeded Livonia.

In class 2A, top-seeded John Curtis will  host 25th-seeded Riverside Academy.

Finally, in class A  action tonight, 3rd-seeded Vermilion Catholic will host 6th-seeded West St. John, while 10th-seeded Westminster Christian hosts second-seeded Haynesville, and 13th-seeded Basile plays host to 5th-seeded Kentwood.
