Larry Bird Is A Dirk/Mavs Fan

Marc Stein, of espn.com, says that NBA legend Larry Bird is "honored" to be compared to Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitski, and that Bird is pulling for the Mavs in the NBA Finals.

Nowitski has drawn a lot of comparisons to Bird throughout his career, most likely because their great ability as shooters.

For his career, Bird averaged 24.3 points-per-game, along with 10 rebounds. He shot 49.6% from the floor, and 37.6% from beyond the three-point stripe.

Nowitski has averaged 23.0 PPG, and 7.2 rebounds for his career. He has a career field-goal percentage of 47.6 %, and a three-point field-goal shooting percentage of 38.1%.
