Lane Kiffin

USC fired head football coach Lane Kiffin early Sunday morning, just hours after the Trojans suffered a 62-41 blowout loss to Arizona St.

Kiffin, who was given the news following the team's charter flight back from Tempe, Arizona, was 28-15 in four seasons at USC, who had lost 7 of their last 11 games, dating back to last season.

The 38-year old Kiffin went 8-5 in 2010, his first year at USC, before going 10-2 in 2011, 7-6 in 2012, and 3-2 this season.

Ed Orgeron, who was the head coach at Ole Miss, from 2005-2007, and is in his second stint as an assistant at USC, will become the head coach for the Trojans, on an interim basis.

Kiffin was previously the head coach at Tennessee in 2009, and for the Oakland Raiders, from 2007-2008.
