A day after proving too much for their rival South Lake Charles, it was Bossier City that proved too much for the Lafayette Little League (11-12 year old), ending their season and winning the State Tournament in Hammond at Chappapeela Sports Park by the score of 9-1.

Bossier City jumped out on the team from the Hub City in the 1st inning by getting a run on the board. But it was the 3rd inning that led to the rout by Bossier City as they scored five runs on three hits, including a 3-run homer. That made the score 6-0 after just three innings.

Bossier City then added three insurance runs, while Lafayette refused to allow themselves to be shut out, leading to the 9-1 final.
