Keke Veal Closing On Third Place On UL Women’s All-Time Scoring List
Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun senior guard Keke Veal continues to climb up the all-time school statistical charts, with still more than one-third of the season remaining.
A native of Opelousas, Veal, who attended St. Thomas More High School, has been a four-year starter for coach Garry Brodhead’s program.
In terms of points scored, as of Thursday, Veal has poured in 1,315 career points, which ranks her fourth on the all-time scoring list.
In front of her, in the number three spot, is Teena Cooper, who scored 1,358 points between 1984-1988.
In the assists department, Veal currently ranks 10th in school history in assists, with 233, just 5 behind Charlotte Green, 12 behind Lisa Merritt, and 28 behind Alicia McDaniel.
Barring injury, Veal should finish her career in the top 7 in career assists.
In career steals, with 220, Veal currently ranks second, six in front of teammate Kia Wilridge, and 31 behind Merritt, who is next on the list.
