Maurice native Keith Desormeaux now sits atop the Leadership Board on the Road to the Kentucky Derby after winning the 2013 Risen Star Stakes on Saturday.

Desormeaux, trainer for Ive Struck A Nerve, won on 135-1 odds, the biggest upset in the 40-year history of the Grade II race.

You may recognize the Desormeaux name. His younger brother, Hall of Famer Kent, has won over 5,000 career races, including wins in the Preakness Stakes, the Belmont Stakes and yes, the Kentucky Derby (1998, 2000, 2008).
