Some Texas Rangers’ fans had even more reason to cheer for Josh Hamilton after he belted a grand slam on Wednesday night: they won a refund from CC Carpet.

The local flooring company is now making good on its promotional promise to issue refunds to customers who purchased flooring or countertops in September if the star hit a bases-clearing home run.

Owner Steve Fitzgerald estimates that the blast could cost him $500,000 in sales, but the company had bought insurance for the promotion. And, yes, Hamilton knew about it when he came up to bat last night.

“The situation doesn’t come up often, so when it does you can’t help but think about it,” Hamilton said. “I’m in the business of giving back. I like to help people as much as I can by giving back. So that’s cool.”
