MILWAUKEE (AP) — Carlos Gomez's first trip to Minnesota this season with the Brewers may not be his last with the way he's been playing so far in 2014.

The Brewers are visiting Minneapolis for the second half of a four-game, home-and-home interleague series with the Twins, one of Gomez's former teams. The All-Star Game will be at Target Field next month.

Gomez is hitting .310 with 11 homers, 32 RBIs and 11 steals entering Wednesday. He is part of an emerging core up the middle that has helped Milwaukee spend most of the first two months of the season in first place in the NL Central.

Catcher Jonathan Lucroy has turned into one of the top players at his position. Lucroy is currently hitting .324 with 3 HR and 24 RBIs. He has an OBP of .392 and a Slugging Percentage of .480.

And Speedy Jean Segura has solidified the shortstop position.
