The LSU Tigers have a new men's head basketball coach, and it's former North Texas head coach Johnny Jones.

Jones, a former player at LSU, was a member of the Tigers' 1981 Final Four team.

The DeRidder, Louisiana native was also an assistant coach at LSU, under long-time head coach Dale Brown, and helped lead the Tigers to a 1986 Final Four appearance.

Jones replaces former head coach Trent Johnson, who left LSU to take the head coaching position at TCU.

In 11 season at North Texas, Jones compiled a career record of 205-162 with two NCAA tournament appearances and one Sun Belt Conference regular-season title.
