Golf as you know it is about to change.
Windy Knoll Golf Club, in Springfield, Ohio, will begin allowing members to rent hovercraft golf carts beginning July 27. It’s not clear how much the futuristic vehicles will cost to rent, although the club did fork over $58,000 apiece for both carts it purchased.
The cart, called the BW1, zooms over water, greens and traps, topping out at a swift 55 miles per hour. Four people and two golf bags can fit on it, as well.
Bubba Watson, who won last year’s Masters, is one of the cart’s developers.
We can only imagine purists will be teed off by this shift from the traditional cart.
