For the second-consecutive year, the Houston Astros will open a new season on the road.

The Astros, who learned their 2019 regular season schedule on Wednesday, along with the rest of Major League Baseball, will open the year on the road Thursday, March 28, as they take on the Tampa Bay Rays in the opening game of a four-game series.

Houston will remain on the road April 1-3, when they square off with the Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas.

The 2019 home opener for the Astros is set for Friday, April 5, when they host the Oakland A's.

Of note, the National League opponents for the Astros next season are teams from the NL Central, which means they will face the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, and Pittsburgh Pirates, while also playing the Colorado Rockies.

On Thursday, July 11, two days after the MLB All-Star Game, the Astros take on the Rangers in the only game in baseball that day/night.

The Astros defeated the Rangers, 4-1, to begin this season, giving them 6-consecutive opening day victories.
