It's taken two years just to get the go-ahead but it looks as if Margaritaville Casino Resort in Biloxi is going to be expanding. It was announced yesterday that an agreement between Biloxi Lodging LLC, the group that operates Margaritaville, and the Mississippi State Secretary of State's office has been reached.

The connections with Margaritaville Resort and Casino have petitioned for clearance to build an additional hotel tower and add an outdoor amusement center to their property. Now that that clearance has been given construction on Phase II of Margaritaville could begin shortly.

Developers expect the total cost of the expansion and new construction to be about $140 million. It is anticipated that the new project, once it's complete, could add an additional 600 jobs to the already 700 jobs already in place at the resort and casino.
