The list of five 2016 Heisman Trophy finalists were announced on Monday night, with three quarterbacks, a receiver, and a linebacker making the cut.

Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, Oklahoma receiver Dede Westbrook, and Michigan linebacker Jabrill Peppers are this year's five finalists.

Jackson is the favorite to win the award, after compiling 4,928 yards of total offense, along with a nation-leading 51 touchdowns.

Mayfield has impressive statistics as well, thrown for 3,669 yards with 38 touchdowns against eight interceptions. His 197.75 quarterback rating is on pace to break the FBS single-season record.

Watson has thrown for 3,914 yards and 37 touchdowns, while leading Clemson to back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances.

Westbrook, Mayfield’s top target, totaled 74 receptions for 1,465 yards and 14 touchdowns on the year.

Peppers, arguably the best defensive player in the nation, serves in other capacities for Michigan, returning punts and kicks, while also spending some time at running back.

The 2016 Heisman Trophy winner will be announced on Saturday night in New York.
