Elfrid Payton was a late invitee to the tryouts for the FIBA world championships in the U-19 division and with 26 players for twelve available spots, many questioned whether the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns' junior-to-be would be able to show enough to impress and get one of those twelve slots.

Payton's name was among the twelve announced last night by Head Coach Billy Donovan (Florida) and assistants Tony Bennett (Virginia) and Shaka Smart (VCU).  Payton and his team will head to Washington DC tomorrow and practice there before leaving tor Prague, Czech Republic on Saturday.
