Roy Halladay became the first nine game winner in the Major Leagues, and Placido Polanco hit a grand slam as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Chicago Cubs, 7-5.

It was the first time in his career that Halladay had beaten the Cubs.

The espn.com story notes Halladay threw seven shutout innings and left the game after Polanco's slam gave the Phils a 7-0 lead.  The bullpen then gave up five Chicago runs in the eighth.

Carlos Zambrano took the loss.
