Omar Infante then followed with a two-run single, making the score 3-1.

Later in the frame, Salvador Perez made it 4-1, when he singled home Mike Moustakas.

From there, it was all San Francisco, as they scored 10-unanswered runs, with the first coming on an RBI single off the bat of Buster Posey in the bottom of the third inning, scoring Matt Duffy, which cut the Kansas City lead to 4-2.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Pence drew the Giants to within 4-3 with an RBI single.

The Giants tied the game, 4-4, on a Juan Perez sacrifice fly that scored Pence, after a great catch by Jarrod Dyson.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, with the score tied, 4-4, Pablo Sandoval singled off Brandon Finnegan, scoring two runs, to give the Giants a 6-4 advantage.

Brandon Belt later singled home Pence in the inning, extending the San Francisco lead to 7-4.
