Trae Sweeting's rbi single with two out in the eighth inning lifted #5 seed Georgia State over #4 Georgia Southern 3-2 in the first game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Troy, AL.

With one out, pinch hitter Cam Sperry singled off reliever Ryan Frederick.(3-2.)  Frederick struck out the next batter, but David Levy singled Sperry to second setting the stage for Sweeting''s game winner.

Wayne Wages (4-0) was the winning pitcher in relief.  Kevin Burgee got the last four outs for his eighth save.

Georgia State got a pair of runs in the second inning  David Levy walked  with one out and Traw Sweeting singled him to second.  A groundout moved the runners to second and third.  Caden Bailey walked to load the bases and Matt Rose delivered a single to center off Eagle' starter Evan Challenger to score Levy and Sweeting

Georgia State starter Nathan Bates only allowed three hits through the first six innings, but ran into trouble in the seventh.  Hunter Thomas walked and Dalton Busby fisted a single to left field.  Cody Lanford bunted the runners to second and third and pinch hitter Will Hudgins singed home the first run of the day for the Eagles.  Cal Baker then dropped down a bunt to score the tying run.

Georgia State will face the winner of the game between #8 Arkansas State and #1 South Alabama at 4 pm Thursday.  Georgia Southern will meet the loser in an elimination game at 9:00am
