Georgia Southern hit four home runs, three of them with a man on base, and used that power to power past the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns 7-4 before 4,192 at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field Saturday niight.

Two of those two run homers came in the sixth inning as the Eagles (19-13, 9-5 Sun Belt) came back after the Cajuns had taken a 4-2 lead after five.

The Cajuns (15-13, 7-6) took an early 1-0 lead in the second against Eagles' starter Tripp Sheppard (3-2) when Kyle Clement got an infield single, went to second on an error, took third on a fly ball and scored on Brian Mills' sacrifice bunt.

But the Eagles came right back against Cajuns' starter Greg Milhorn (1-1) in the fourth inning when Kody Adams led off with a single and rode home on Aaron Mizell's ninth homer of the season, an opposite field shot down the left field line.

The Cajuns came back in the fifth when Stefan Trosclair homered to left field to tie the game with one out.  Mills reached on an error and went to third on Blake Trahan's single which extended his hitting streak to 19 games.  Trahan stole second and both runners came home on Nick Thurman's single to center as the Cajuns took a 4-2 lead.

The lead was short lived however, as Mizell led off the sixth with a single and Chase Griffin followed with his fourth homer of the season to tie the contest.  After Hunter Thomas grounded out, Ryan Cleveland singled and Dalton Busby then hit his first homer of the season to give Georgia Southern the lead for good.

Thomas completed the scoring with a solo homer in the eighth off reliever Chris Charpenter.

Trosclair had three hits in the game to lead the Cajuns and extended his hitting streak to eleven games in the process.  Clement had two hits for Louisiana.  Mizell was the only player to record more than one hit for Georgia Southern, who out-hit the Cajuns 9-8.

The win secured the series win for the Eagles and was the first series loss at home for Louisiana since South Alabama took two out of three back in May of 2013.

The Cajuns will try to salvage the final game of the series Sunday at 12 noon.
