A former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball pitcher is heading west.

A native of Nacogdoches, Texas, Carpenter did not pitch last season, after redshirting during the 2017 campaign.

She'll have three seasons of eligibility remaining at UTSA.

Before arriving at UL, Carpenter posted a 20-3 record with a 0.57 ERA and 241 strikeouts in her senior season at Burnet High School.

Carpenter, who will be under the tutelage of former UL pitching great Jordan Wallace, currently an assistant at UTSA, accumulated an overall record of an overall record of 60-17 in her first three seasons of high school softball.

We wish Makenzie the best of luck at UTSA.
