Former Star NFL WR Michael Jackson Dies In Louisiana Crash
Sad news out of Tangipahoa, Louisiana today, as authorities confirmed to TMZ Sports former NFL wide receiver Michael Jackson died in a two vehicle accident.
Jackson, 48, played 8 seasons in the NFL after being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 6th round of the 1991 draft out of Southern Mississippi.
He led the NFL in touchdowns receptions (14) with the Baltimore Ravens (formerly the Browns) in 1996.
According to police, Jackson was operating a motorcycle at a high speed on Highway 51 before crashing into a truck that was backing out. Jackson hit the truck with such force, he flew through the passenger door and struck the driver. Both were pronounced dead upon arrival from medical personnel.
Jackson, a native of Tangiaphoa, served as the of Tangiaphoa village mayor from 2009 to 2013. He was a prep star at North Shore before playing collegiately at USM.
