T.J. Geith

 

Left-handed pitcher T.J. Geith, who pitched for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team for two years, was promoted by the Houston Astros organization on Tuesday, to their Double A affiliate in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Geith, who was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 39th round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft in 2011, following his senior season at Louisiana, was 6-0, with a 2.86 ERA., and a save, in 31 relief appearances for the class A-advanced Lancaster JetHawks, of the California League, prior to his promotion.

The 24-year old Geith threw 44.0 innings for Lancaster, allowing 43 hits, and 14 earned runs, while walking 15, and striking out 36 batters.

In 2010, Geith went 6-2, with a 4.67 ERA. for the Cajuns, and followed that up with a 6-5 record, and a 4.59 ERA. in 2011.

Geith is 10-5, with a 2.73 ERA., and seven saves over his professional career.
