A former LSU basketball star is trying to avoid incarceration time.

Glen "Big Baby" Davis, who played collegiately at LSU from 2004-2007, was arraigned on Thursday on felony assault charges, after he was indicted Tuesday in Los Angeles.

The 32-year old Davis pleaded not guilty to the charges, which stemmed from an incident outside the West Hollywood nightclub in April.

Davis is accused of throwing the victim into a wall during a fight outside the club.

If convicted, Davis faces a maximum 7-year sentence.

The 2006 SEC Player of The Year, Davis was also arrested in February, on drug possession and distribution charges in Maryland, after police found 126 grams of marijuana and a briefcase containing $92,000 in cash inside his hotel room.

Following his college career at LSU, the 6-foot-9, 289-pound Davis went on to play 8 seasons in the NBA, with the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, and Los Angeles Clippers, finishing with career averages of 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

A native of Baton Rouge, Davis last played in the NBA in 2014-15.
