A former LSU basketball player has found a new home.

Guard Kieran Hayward has announced that he is going to continue his career at UMass.

A native of Sydney, Australia, Hayward played in 26 games as a freshman in 2016-2017, averaging 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds-per-game.

The 6-foot-4 guard scored a career-high 8 points twice while at LSU, against Texas Southern (December 17) and Mississippi St. (January 7).

Hayward will have to sit out the entire 2017-2018 season, but will have three years of eligibility remaining at UMass, beginning with the 2018-2019 campaign.
