A former LSU assistant coach, who was also an extremely successful Louisiana high school football coach, has joined the coaching staff at Texas Tech.

Jabbar Juluke, who was on the LSU coaching staff last season, has been named the running backs coach and associate head coach at Texas Tech.

Juluke was hired at LSU after his first college coaching job when he was the running backs coach at Louisiana Tech from 2013-15. He was briefly the RB coach at Texas Tech prior to last season, but left that job to take the position at LSU.

A successful high school football coach at Edna Karr from 2003-12, Juluke led the Cougars to a state championship in his final season at the helm.

Along with Dameyune Craig, Juluke was taken off the LSU staff earlier this week, with Craig being dismissed, and Juluke being "reassigned".

Contract terms with Texas Tech were not disclosed, but Juluke was slated to earn $275,000.
