Former Heisman Candidate Arrested For Public Intoxication
It's a known fact that college kids party. Baker Mayfield was a Heisman Trophy finalist for the Oklahoma Sooners, but he's also a college kid that also enjoys a good party.
Mayfield went a little too far recently though, and earned himself a run in with the police. He was arrested in Fayetteville, Arkansas, for public intoxication and resisting arrest, but he was released from jail after posting $1,535 in bail.
The details of the report issued by the officer that arrested Mayfield paint a sloppy, unattractive portrait of Mayfield's behavior.
Cleary intoxicated, with food all over his shirt, running away from a cop and getting tackled...not a good look at all, Baker.
Again, this isn't an outrageous offense for a college student, but it definitely will affect his perception by some important people in the NFL. Scouts, team representatives and general managers try to avoid headaches at any cost, so he better prepare himself to answer questions about this incident when he talks with NFL teams.
