Former Cajun Melvin White Makes The Cut For Carolina Panthers

With no senior bowl invite, no scouting combine invite, and no "hearing his name called" during the NFL draft, former Ragin' Cajun cornerback Melvin White was a long shot to make the 53 man roster for the Carolina Panthers. Over the weekend, he learned that he beat those odds.

White is the only Ragin' Cajun from UL's 2012 team to earn a regular season roster spot. He made a strong impression on the Panthers coaching staff on defense, but even more so on special teams.

Melvin will wear #23, one higher than the #22 he wore at UL. When news of cuts began coming down on Saturday, White took to twitter to tell his followers he made it.
