Fields Named SBC Player of the Week

Before the season began, Louisiana women's basketball coach Garry Brodhead suggested junior forward Simone Fields might be headed for a breakout season.

In her season opener, at least, Brodhead was a prophet.

Fields paced the Cajuns' come from behind win over McNeese State Saturday and was named Sun Belt Player of the Week for her efforts.

Fields collected a double double for the Cajuns with 28 points and 13 rebounds.  She shot 11-13 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line.
