You know, sometimes I get on the folks who spend a lot of time on message boards and some of the things they say...but sometimes good ideas come from those posts.

I saw one on raginpagin.com that piqued my interest.  Someone asked what are your favorite football moments by decade?

The more I thought about this, the more moments I came up with.  I'm going to give you a few of mine...but I'm more interested in hearing yours.

Now, I really didn't start following UL football until around 1982 and did my first TV broadcast in 1984 (at Bryant-Denny Stadium, no less).  So I'll start with that decade:

THE 80's:  Dwight Prudhomme's quarterback sneak that started the Cajuns' incredible comeback against Northeast Louisiana as USL scored 40 unanswered second half points.

Brian Mitchell completes the winning two point conversion not once, but twice in his final play as a Cajun, defeating Arkansas State.

A crazy night in the Superdome followed by a Beach Boys concert.  The Cajuns didn't win the game but it's as entertained as I've ever been.

My least favorite?-After the Cajuns blocked a punt to take a 20-9 lead over Oklahoma State, the Cowboys returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown.  Somehow, we knew what was about to happen.

THE 90's:  Tailgating at Cajun FIeld the day of the Alabama game.  It was the first time we really saw the masses getting ready for something special.  We learned something from the thousands of Tide fans that day.

Jake Delhomme waving for the crowd in the south end zone to join the party on the field after the win over Texas A&M.

Jake to Brandon Stokley on fourth down with just seconds remaining for the winning touchdown in the Superdome against Tulane.

My least favorite:  It looked like the Cajuns were finally going to beat an SEC team in 1992.  Leading Auburn by two points, USL intercepted a pass and had the ball inside the Auburn 20.  But the Cajuns fumbled on the first play, the Tigers recovered and kicked a field goal on the final play to win 25-24.

The 2000's:  Jerry Babb's touchdown pass to Kevin Belton with just under a minute to go , capping a furious second half comeback to beat Houston on the road.

David Prater's interception in the fourth OT as the Cajuns defeated Middle Tennessee 57-51.

Tyler Albrecht's field goal with less than a minute to play as the Cajuns defeated Kansas State 17-15.

My least favorite:  The season finale at Central Florida in 2001. It's one of the few times I've ever seen a Cajuns football team quit.  UCF won the game 31-0.  Jerry Baldwin was fired two days later

THE 2010's:  Melvin White scores on an 89 yard interception return with :03 left in the first half as Louisiana dominated Troy.

Ladarius Green's recovery of an onside kick as the Cajuns come from eleven down with three minutes left to stun ULM and cap an undefeated season at Cajun Field.

Some kid named Baer kicked a field goal.  I got pretty excited.

Same city the following year:  Another Beach Boys concert.  We won this time.

My least favorite:  Jelani Jenkins' return of a blocked punt with :13 left as Florida turned back a Cajuns' upset bid.

Of course, there are many more.  Tyrell Fenroy and Mike Desormeaux come to mind.  So...what about you?  What are your favorite moments, by decade?
