Former New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove is denying reports his hit on Brett Favre during the 2009 NFC Championship Game against the Minnesota Vikings was part of a bounty orchestrated by former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

Hargrove was penalized and fined for the hit.  And, it has been alleged (by Sports Illustrated) that Hargrove celebrated Favre’s injury.

While Hargove has admitted mistakes with the hit and subsequent comment, he has categorically denied it was part of a bounty.

Hargrove played last season with Seattle.
