ESPN has fired one worker and suspended another after a slur which caused controversy.

ESPN announced the man who writes headlines for espn.com was fired after his "Chink in the Armor" headline appeared on the website.

The editor, identified as Anthony Frederico, apologized, saying he meant no harm.

ESPN has also suspended an anchor who made a similar comment on the air on ESPNEWS.

The network issued a statement apologizing for the incident.
