The NBA decided to invite the best hair in the NBA, Elfrid Payton's, to the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge for the second straight year.

Since leaving the Ragin' Cajuns to get selected 10th overall in the NBA Draft, Payton has carved out his role as the starting point guard on a young, developing team in Orlando. He worked hard this season to improve his three point percentage from .262 to .356 in year number two, and he's averaging two more points per game this season (11.2) to go along with a better performance from the free throw line too.

His increased shooting skills compliment his already sick defensive, dribbling and dishing abilities for the Magic. Even better for Payton, it looks like the franchise and community are embracing him with open arms. Life is good for Elfrid, to say the least.

The Rising Stars Challenge is typically a stepping stone to the All-Star Game, and he will be playing with the best young talent in the league like Karl-Anthony Towns, Jabari Parker, Kristaps Porzingis, Andrew Wiggins and a lot of other headliners.

Respect comes with time, and he's already starting to earn it. Everybody in Cajun Nation is just happy for one of the most humble, hard working athletes to ever pass through university doors. Geaux Elfrid.
