Michael Vick has been franchised by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Under the terms of the current, soon to expire collective bargaining agreement, franchise players must be paid at least the average of the five highest paid players at that positon.

The Eagles also put a transition tag on kicker David Akers, meaning he must be paid at least the average of the top ten at his position.

It is unknown whether franchise and transition tags will be a part of the new collective bargaining agreement, whenever that is reached.
