Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard is disliked by many NBA fans. Some feel he's not always engaged in the game. Others don't like him smiling when his team is losing. Many feel he comes off as insincere.

Last night on TNT, Charles Barkley asked him why he thinks people don't like him. Howard responded. Here is a clip of the meatiest part of the interview.

Inside the NBA on TNT has won multiple Emmy's for a reason. Last night was one of them.

As I watched this interview last night, I felt somewhat uncomfortable, which was awesome. Sports fans generally know what to expect when watching SportsCenter or player interviews.

This was unscripted and raw. Howard comes across as sincere, yet many feel he's faking it.

My brother-in-law grew up in Houston and is a huge Rockets fan. He didn't believe Howard for a second. His perception of Howard is that of a fan who has watched him in Houston the last few years.

I asked a co-worker about the interview. They don't watch much NBA outside of the playoffs. They felt Howard was being real and came off as more likeable. Howard's vulnerability in the situation led my co-worker to his opinion.

When a great interview takes place, it draws multiple opinions.

The interview Dwight Howard interview is below, with more follow up on his contract, whether he will opt out, and some advice from Barkley.
