While everyone involved seems to be comfortable with Drew Brees' upcoming free agency, it's bound to be the talk of football until there is an actual done deal.

At his final press conference of the 2017 season, Drew Brees explained that he will stay in New Orleans as long as they'll have him.

The sentiment was echoed by Saints GM Mickey Loomis Wednesday while speaking with reporters at the Senior Bowl.

“He doesn’t have a contract, which has happened before,” Loomis said. “We want him to be our quarterback, and we’ll get going on that at some point. … I’m not anticipating any big issues.”

Yesterday, while being interviewed after a Pro Bowl practice, Brees was asked where he'll be playing football next season. His answer changed but in a positive way.

“New Orleans Saints,” he said. “I’m not going anywhere else.”

Strong words from the man himself!

Brees' contract is set to expire in March. If the Saints don't sign him before then, they'll have $18 million in dead money on their hands that falls in line with how his contract is structured. If they do come to an agreement and sign on the dotted line before then, they'll still be on the hook for that money, but they'll be able to push it to a further date.
